The difference between a “question” and a “question mark”
Consider any ?.
The fruit of the spirit (pride or Humility) beneath the ? will determine whether the door in the ? is open or closed.
Understanding this invisible orientation is necessary to determining your safety and informing your conduct.
BEWARE: Answering a “question mark” is unwise.
An egg that has taken offense hurts, believes its greatness has been challenged, and pride has fallen out of Compassion. Its ? is a closed door. It has NOT expressed humble curiosity. Its ? only marks the spot where Compassion should be. It has an agenda with an underlying injury, and nothing you say can put it together again.
Answer the fruit, not the ?.... The answer may not be verbal, and it may not be immediate. Operating on that deeper level -the level beneath the words, like the cogs in a watch- cultivates humble fruits of your own… And it’s safer than following a closed ?’s lead.
