ROTTEN

*Takes offense. Uses verbal and physical violence to get his way. Uses lies and leverage against the embodiments of Truth and Virtue to avoid Accountability. Repeats.*

How would you compassionately define a rotten egg?

What would be the next course of action if an egg embodied the definition?

How would YOU grow world peace?...

Once upon a time, facts and circumstances did not favor a Great egg's healthy growth.

***

As a young, impressionable egg, Great was introduced to a dog-eat-dog world where going about your daily business put you in the line of fire. He quickly learned that he had to develop at least the image of strength in order to survive. In this cruel, conquest-driven world, it was important to watch your back and appear as though you were holding all the cards, even if you weren't. As long as he came out on top, the ends appeared to justify the means, so he became mean...

Great could not admit weakness - not to himself or to others - so he made a name for himself to withstand criticism. He took offense when his greatness was challenged. Rather than humbly admit when he wasn't the greatest, Great chose to use verbal and physical violence to assert dominance and crafted a hyperbolic image. He exacted revenge upon those who bested him. His volatile, offended reactions toward anything that didn't go -his- way put himself and those around him in -harm's- way... When confronted with the Truth of his soul's depravity, he refused to align himself with reality, doubling down on whatever narrative he WANTED to hold sway - lying to himself and to others, shirking responsibility, disregarding reality for his preferred image, and trampling the Truth with his tongue.

The Great egg's unethical actions had produced "great" results. He got what he wanted, by force if necessary; his lies helped line his wallet; he used leverage (against those who would not violate their consciences and bend the Truth to his will) and had gotten his way… It worked... He felt great... but it was a greatness won by casualty of Virtue, and it was fragile.

After a time, the Great egg's ego became terribly ill... Having rid his environment of dissent and indulged in his vices, he had not given himself the opportunity to practice Compassion and Humility. He got whatever he wanted, but it was never enough, and he found himself not feeling so great after all... Surrounded by the spoils of a life lived without scruples and basking in the glow of false light, his facade collapsed under scrutiny. His power appeared great, but his pride was morally bankrupt.

Unfortunately in the end, the Great egg had grown in the wrong places. He took offense and had hurt people. Done irreversible damage. He stoked the flames of anger instead of Love, held onto grudges instead of practicing Forgiveness, exercised revenge, and wished anyone who didn't think that he was the greatest ill will instead of Grace... He puffed himself up to unconscionable heights, pointing fingers and crying "persecution" rather than holding himself accountable… He was his OWN worst enemy... but because he would not *own* that uncomfortable Truth, Great's greatness was just a shell, and his yolk had become rotten.

How would you compassionately define a rotten egg?

What would be the next course of action if an egg embodied the definition?

How would YOU grow world peace?...

Piece be you. (sic)
